Four Lee County college students received the Lee County Farmers Federation Scholarship at Auburn University’s College of Agriculture’s annual Scholarship Recognition Program Aug. 24. Hannah Lane of Opelika is studying agronomy and soils. Frank Reeves and Nicolas Resa, both of Auburn, are studying agricultural business and economics. Evelyn Willmon, also of Auburn, is studying fisheries and allied aquacultures.
Willmon also received the Alabama Catfish Producers Annual Scholarship. A division of the Alabama Farmers Federation, the Alabama Catfish Producers established the scholarship to recognize junio- or senior-level students majoring in fisheries and allied aquacultures. Preference is given to students who plan to work in the Alabama catfish industry after graduation.
The Alabama Farmers Federation, Alfa Insurance and county Farmers Federations are committed to supporting the college dreams of students studying agriculture. These organizations donate thousands of dollars each year to students across the state.
