|It's strawberry season on Julie and Jeremy Calvert's farm in Bushy Pond, which is located in Cullman County. The Calverts, who were the Alabama Farmers Federation's Outstanding Young Farm Family in the Horticulture Division in 2008 and 2010, grow a variety of produce including strawberries, peaches, squash, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, corn, okra, watermelons, cantaloupe, peppers and egg plants. They also have two poultry houses where they raise broilers. Jeremy is chairman of the Cullman County Farmers Federation Horticulture Committee and serves on the State Committee.
