My Farm:
My 300-acre farm is broken down into two segments:
Cotton - 160 acres
Soybeans - 140 acres
What I like about Agriculture:
My two favorite things about agriculture are being able to work for myself and watching crops grow. There's something to be said for the "simple life."
The Biggest Challenge Facing Agriculture:
High import costs make it hard for young people to enter agriculture today.
I'm Proud Of:
My family and my grandkids.
My wife, Marlene, and I have been married 48 years. We met in high school, which we rode the same bus to. We have two sons, Duane (Andrea) and Brett (Mandy), and five grandchildren.
My Faith:
I'm a member and deacon at Mountain Grove Baptist Church. I've also served as a Sunday School Teacher for the past 20 years over the Young Adults class.
A Good/Bad Day Is...
A good day is any day we have our children and grandchildren with us.
When you have your family and health, there isn't really a bad day.
You May Not Know...
I like driving my 1940 Ford coupe, which I rebuilt myself in my shop. I also like being a part of my church and knowing Christ.
