About My Farm:
I farm 1,100 acres of row crops - corn, soybeans, cotton and wheat - primarily along the Coosa River and Terripin Creek.
What I Like About Agriculture:
I enjoy making most of my own decisions - good or bad. I also enjoy being in touch with nature and seeing first-hand the marvels that the Lord provides for us.
The Biggest Challenges Facing Agriculture:
- Rising input costs
- Federal and state regulations
- Lack of labor
I'm Proud Of:
I'm proud of our family, our faith and our farm. Every day is a blessing.
About My Family and Faith:
My wife, Rita, and I have been married for 36 years and are members of First United Methodist Church in Centre. We She was "Employee of the Year" at the local bank, and her picture was on a promotional billboard next to Garrett Tractor in town. My Sunday School teacher was the bank president at the time, and he played a role in getting us to meet. I met her, liked what I saw and we've been together ever since!
We have one daughter, Andrea (27) and a son-in-law, Seth.
I am a 1973 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in agronomy and soils.
A Good/Bad Day Is...
Every day is good, but some are better than others. If there are any "bad" days, they only make me appreciate the good ones more.
Something You May Not Know About Me:
I love to work, hunt and make other people have a good time and enjoy life. Karaoke give me a chance to accomplish a lot of this.
