1 cup cooking oil
1 (18-ounce) spice cake mix
2 eggs
1 (16-ounce) jar applesauce
1 cup raisins, optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour oil into a 9-inch by 13-inch pan and tilt to grease bottom completely.
In a mixing bowl, stir remaining ingredients together with a fork until blended well. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 35 to 45 minutes. Sprinkle cooled cake with powdered sugar, if desired. Cut into squares to serve.
