Alfa President Jerry Newby said the new member benefit grew out of a relationship with ValCom that began about two decades ago.
"ValCom and Henry Farm Center have provided a computer to the Federation's Outstanding Young Farm Family for almost 20 years," Newby said. "The new partnership will allow all members to receive discounts on high-quality computer systems."
ValCom President and CEO Lester H. Killebrew said the program will allow Alfa Farmers members to purchase quality computer systems, starting at just $795.
"We are very excited about this program," he said. "It is a pleasure working with Alfa and the Farmers Federation to provide the highest quality computer and technology products at discounted prices to Alfa members."
In addition to low prices, ValCom offers its customers the peace of mind that comes from knowing their systems are backed by a trained, professional service department. The experienced sales team also can help Alfa members design a system that will meet their business and personal needs.
"To survive in the pressures of the business environment today, you must be the company that is the most responsive to your customer's needs, and you must have highly trained and dedicated employees," Killebrew said. "Henry Farm Center and ValCom Business Centers are viable today because we have the best possible employees a business can have."
Killebrew established Henry Farm Center Inc. in 1969 after graduating from Auburn University. In 1983, Henry Farm Center organized an IBM dealership with a ValCom franchise. Killebrew opened his first ValCom location in Abbeville. He has since expanded the operation to include five locations and about 45 employees. ValCom serves Alabama, northwest Florida, southwest Georgia and surrounding areas.
