Alfa Farmers Members Receive Discounts On ADT Security Systems
Alabama Farmers Federation members can now save on the installation and monitoring of new security systems from ADT. This newest member benefit provides significant discounts to Federation members on equipment as well as a $2 per month discount on monitoring for most new and existing ADT customers.

Federation President Jerry A. Newby said the partnership with ADT gives members an opportunity to save money while taking advantage of a valuable service from the nation's leading security company.
"The ADT program is yet another way we are adding value to Federation membership," Newby said. "It can allow our members to save on monthly monitoring and equipment -- when they have a new ADT system installed -- plus they can receive discounts on their Alfa Insurance homeowners' policies for having a security system in their homes. In addition, members will have the peace of mind that comes from knowing their property and families are protected by America's most-trusted security company."
Alan Weatherford, sales and installation manager for ADT, said the company has more than 130 years experience in the security industry and currently serves more than 5 million homes.
"When they choose ADT, Federation members can have confidence that their security system is professionally monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week by centers that are 100 percent owned and operated by ADT," he said. "ADT installs over 100 systems each hour, and we have more than 200 sales offices across the country and 8,000 service trucks to help make sure our customers are safe and secure."
Weatherford pointed out that statistically one out of every five homes in the United States will have a burglary, fire or carbon monoxide poisoning over the next six years, and one out of every three homes will have a medical emergency this year.
That's why ADT offers not only burglar alarms, but also has monitored smoke, carbon monoxide and heat detectors. Under the new affinity program, Federation members can receive one of those detectors at no cost when they install a new ADT home security system.
The member benefit program also provides discounts on the reactivation of existing ADT systems, and there may be discounts available for members who want ADT to takeover their current security systems -- if they are near the end of their contracts. (Qualification details are available from ADT.) In addition, Alfa Insurance policyholders can save up to 15 percent on their homeowners' policies, depending on their location and type of security system.
Mike Tidwell, director of the Federation's Department of Organization, said the ADT member benefit grew out of conversations he had with a former ADT employee and Montgomery County Farmers Federation member beginning three years ago.
"Tony Staten is a personal friend who values his membership in the Farmers Federation. He saw the affinity partnership as a great opportunity for our members, ADT and Alfa Insurance customers," Tidwell said. "He was instrumental in getting the ball rolling with ADT and followed through until we had an agreement. We are excited about this program and appreciate Tony and everyone else who was involved in making it happen."
