WEBSITE ADDITION AIMED AT INCREASING FARMERS' PROFITS
"MONTGOMERY, Ala. --" Members of Alabama Farmers Federation now have another outlet to buy and sell their products, equipment and supplies, and there's no cost to members. It's an additional value for your annual dues. Trade 'N' Post was launched this week on the alfafarmers.org website. After entering your membership number, user friendly prompts walk you through putting your own ad on the website. Trade 'N' Post is for agricultural products, livestock, farm equipment, etc., and anything posted can literally be viewed all over the world. Buyers do not have to be members to view the on-line ads or to make a purchase. "As soon as the word gets out, we expect hundreds of classified ads to be posted," said Paul Till, director of public relations and communications. "It's something we have had requests for and wanted to do for some time. We are pleased to have it launched and expect it to be a tremendous benefit whether you are selling hay or looking for hard-to-find parts or equipment." Members may place or find articles in 16 different categories. A search engine enables you to enter a word and find any ads with that item for sale. Users are urged to delete their ads as soon as the product is sold. All ads rotate off 30 days after posting but may be reposted. "We've already received some very positive comments about the addition to our website," Till said. "One member said they expect to save several hundred dollars a year in advertising costs by posting their ads on line." Currently, there is no limit to the number of items which may be posted. However, this is not a commercial site and is limited to individual members.
