CONFERENCE FOCUSES ON IMPROVING COUNTY PROGRAMS
Leaders in the Alabama Farmers Federation Women's Division will discuss ways to improve agricultural programs in their home counties when they attend the annual Women's Conference set for April 23-25 at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham.
"One of our goals for the Women's Division is to improve agriculture programs on the county level," said State Women's Committee Chairman Shirley Weeks. "One of the ways to do that is to use some of our best programs as a blueprint for others to follow."
County Women's Committee chairmen from throughout the state will serve on a panel during the conference to discuss successful programs in their counties. Conference participants will be allowed to ask questions and make suggestions for improvements to county and state programs.
Other activities during the conference include a cooking demonstration and workshop by Leslie Bailey of Montgomery.
Speakers for the conference include Mike Royer, a news anchor for NBC 13 in Birmingham, and Miss Alabama Agriculture Grace Davis of Talladega. Entertainment will be provided by the B-Team Angels, a motivational variety group from Arab.
