SOUTHERN PEANUT FARMERS SECOND ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Peanut farmers from Alabama, Georgia and Florida will have an opportunity to learn about the latest production techniques and research at the second annual Southern Peanut Growers Conference July 30-Aug. 1. The deadline for pre-registration is July 15. The conference is presented by the Southern Peanut Farmers Federation in conjunction with the University of Georgia, Auburn University and the University of Florida. It will be held at Bay Point Resort in Panama City, Fla. More than 500 peanut farmers and industry members attended the first conference in 1999. In addition to research, farmers will have an opportunity to hear about peanuts and peanut butter in the government feeding programs and learn details on legislative issues. Farmers also will have a chance to sample new peanut products and visit with farmers from other states.
