COUNTY PORK COOKOFF CONTESTS UNDERWAY
Plans are underway in several counties throughout the state for preliminary contests of the State Pork Cookoff. Brian Hardin, director of the Federation's Pork Division, said the Alabama Pork Producers provide $50 to each county competition. County winners are eligible to compete for the State Pork Cookoff which will be held July 30 in Birmingham in conjunction with the annual Commodity Producers Conference. The first-place winner in the state contest will receive $500; second place receives $300 and third place gets $100. All other entries in the state contest receive $25 for participating.
