AUBURN TO HOST TURFGRASS FIELD DAY
"AUBURN, Ala.," Turfgrass producers in Alabama will have an opportunity to observe some of the latest research and technology when they attend the Auburn University Turfgrass Field Day set for July 25 at Turfgrass Research Unit in Auburn. Brian Hardin, director of the Greenhouse, Nursery and Sod Division of the Alabama Farmers Federation, said weed and fire ant control will be among the work highlighted on the program and can be producers increase profits and reduce input costs. Participants in the field day will tour plots form 8:30 a.m. until noon and will attend short educational courses from 1-3 p.m. The field day is sponsored by the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, and the departments of Agronomy and Soils, Entomology and Plant Pathology, Horticulture, and Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University.
