FARNSWORTH NAMED DIRECTOR OF AREA 4 FOR FARMERS FEDERATION
MONTGOMERY David Farnsworth, a Tuscaloosa native and former extension agent, has been selected as the new area organization director for District 4 of the Alabama
Farmers Federation. He replaces Johnny Johnson who retired July 1.
In his new position, Farnsworth will work with farmers and other Federation leaders in District 4 which includes Lamar, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Shelby and Bibb counties.
"David's knowledge of agriculture, marketing, politics and economic development makes him well equipped to serve our members," said Mike Kilgore, director of organization for the Federation.
Farnsworth is a 1977 graduate of Auburn University's school of forestry. Before accepting his position with the Federation, he served as marketing director for the Frontier national Corporation of Sylacauga. He previously worked as coordinator for the Alabama State Senate Re-election Campaign for District 11, and from 1992-1998 was manager of member services for economic development for Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative in Talladega.
Farnsworth and his wife, Jan, have four daughters ranging in age from 8-16 years old.
The Farnsworths will be relocating from their home in Sylacauga to Tuscaloosa.
