FARMERS FEDERATION PUBLISHES "SECOND HELPING" COOKBOOK
MONTGOMERY The all-new Country Kitchen - A Second Helping cookbook will be available just in time for holiday cooking and gift giving.
The first Country Kitchen cookbook was released in 1996 in conjunction with the Alabama Farmers Federation's 75th anniversary celebration, said Paul Till, director of the Department of Public Relations and Communications, which published the book. It was re-printed and sold out a second time.
"Because the cookbook was so popular, we decided to do a follow up cookbook with new recipes," Till said. "Country Kitchen - A Second Helping features more than 500 recipes, including many which have appeared in Neighbors magazine."
Already, orders have been received for more than 500 copies, Till said. The first copies arrived at the Farmers Federation office this week, he said.
"Everyone loves a good cookbook, and this one will feature some of the best recipes from the best cooks in Alabama," Till said. "It also makes a great gift."
Jamie Creamer, a former writer for Alabama Farmers Federation, edited the new cookbook and compiled the recipes. She also edited the original Country Kitchen cookbook.
The new cookbooks are available for $12, plus $3 for tax and shipping. Cookbook requests and payments should be mailed to: The Country Kitchen Cookbook, The Alabama Farmers Federation, P.O. Box 11000, Montgomery, AL 36191-0001.
