ALABAMA MEAT GOAT ASSOCIATION MERGES WITH ALFA FARMERS
The Alabama Meat Goat Association will merge with the Alabama Farmers Federation Sheep and Goat Committee. The merger, which took effect immediately, was approved during the Jan. 12 meeting of the Alabama Meat Goat Association. The vote was unanimous. James D. Griffin of Grady serves as chairman of the State Sheep & Goat Committee. He also served as president of the Meat Goat Association. He said the merger will unite producers under one name and purpose. He said one of the first issues the combined group will undertake will be approval of a goat and sheep checkoff referendum. Other issues include formation of a sheep and goat committee in each county.
