ALABAMA AG TAG TO BE AVAILABLE THIS FALL
State officials recently announced that production of the Alabama Ag Tag will begin later this summer now that the required number of tags have been pre-sold. At least 1,000 tags had to be pre-sold before the state would print the tags. No more tags can be sold until the actual production of the tag begins, probably in September, according to state officials. Those who prepurchased the tags should contact their county tag office in early September for details on how to get their tag.
"The success of the tag sales was important for several reasons," said Federation Executive Director Mike Kilgore. "The tags will provide a steady funding source for educational and promotional programs for Alabama agriculture, but it also will provide a positive image for our farmers."
Proceeds from the new Ag Tag, which was designed and promoted by the Alabama Farmers Federation, support agricultural education in Alabama through Ag in the Classroom Programs, Farming Feeds Alabama commercials and other agricultural projects throughout the state.
