MONTGOMERY, Ala. The Alabama Farmers Federation joined bands, organizations and elected officials from throughout Alabama Jan. 20 in celebrating the inauguration of Gov. Bob Riley.Farmers from across the state were on hand for the festivities, which began with the swearing in of Riley and other elected officials and concluded with an inaugural parade through the streets of downtown Montgomery. Participating in the parade were Outstanding Young Farm Family David and Wendy Rogers of Cherokee County and their son, Wesley; Miss Alabama Agriculture Melissa Lynn McCord of Covington County; and Teacher of the Year Elizabeth (Betsy) Rogers of Leeds Elementary School. The Alabama Farmers Federation also hosted a reception for Commissioner of Agriculture Ron Sparks on inauguration day.
