BLACK BELT SUMMIT TO BE RESCHEDULED
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A summit to launch a rural development initiative to improve the quality of life in Alabama's Black Belt has been postponed until fall. The event originally was set for Saturday, April 26 in Uniontown and was coordinated by Alabama Congressman Artur Davis. The fall summit will address a wide range of issues, including strategies of how to deal with existing problems that are symptoms of persistent poverty.
