COMPREHENSIVE NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT PLAN WORKSHOPS SCHEDULED
Alabama Pork Producers, National Pork Board and Alabama Cooperative Extension System are hosting a series of meetings to discuss Comprehensive Nutrient Management Planning. There will be a total of six hours of educational programs offered in two locations. Pork producers who attend all six hours will receive a certificate of completion. Each hour of attendance will count as one CEU for CAFO registration purposes.
The program will cover the components of a Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan. Farmers who attend will have the information they need to decide what components are required for their farm and how to make the plan work. A CNMP is similar to the Waste Management System Plan required by ADEM for all Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations, according to Alabama Farmers Federation Pork Division Director Brian Hardin.
