FEDERATION LEADERS ADOPT RESOLUTIONS

County presidents, state commodity committee chairmen and state board members met in Montgomery, Oct. 6 for the Federation's resolutions meeting.Resolutions adopted during the meeting will be presented at the Federation's annual meeting in Mobile in December where they will be considered by the voting delegates. Resolutions adopted during the meeting included a measure that supports efforts to enforce the existing law that prohibits public employees from using their work time, public buildings and public facilities to promote any political activity. Another resolution passed which recommends that honey be allowed to be purchased as a food item at state-approved farmers market stands where food vouchers are used as payment. A resolution which proposed setting a minimum property tax millage or equivalency funding in order for a county to receive equalization funds failed to gain approval.
