ALFA DONATES $100,000 TO TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY LEGACY CAMPAIGN
TUSKEGEE, Ala. -- Tuskegee University students attending the annual Career Development and Placement Services Awards Luncheon applauded as Alfa President Jerry Newby presented the university with a donation to its Legacy Campaign during a luncheon on the campus Thursday.

The $25,000 check presented Thursday is the first of four that will be made in the next four years for a total gift of $100,000 from the Alfa Foundation to the Tuskegee University Legacy Campaign. The donation will be used for student scholarships, program development and faculty research.
Newby said it was apparent by the bright students who were recognized during the luncheon that Tuskegee University is dedicated to educating the future leaders of Alabama and the world.
"I am pleased to present this check to your university and I'm excited about continuing our relationship with this fine school," Newby said.
Tuskegee University Provost Dr. William Lester, Sarah Stringer, director of Career Development and Placement Services Center and Kenneth Westary of the university's department of institutional advancement accepted the check on behalf of Tuskegee University President Benjamin F. Payton.
