ALABAMA PEANUT PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE
MONTGOMERY, Ala.-- For those seeking the latest peanut market news, delicious peanut recipes or anything relating to peanuts, the Alabama Peanut Producers Association (APPA) website is the place to go. Recently revamped, www.alpeanuts.com offers producers and consumers a place to find information on everything from upcoming peanut-related events to current legislation."We revamped the site to give it a new look and to make it more user-friendly," said Randy Griggs, executive director of APPA and director of the Peanut Division for the Alabama Farmers Federation. "We're hoping it will evolve into a tool growers can use as a starting point for anything involving peanuts." The new website is easier to navigate and offers new features. With peanut facts, information for teachers interested in educating their students about the versatile nut, industry and crop information, weather updates, and more, the website is useful for both peanut farmers and consumers. The new website links directly to the websites of the Alabama Farmers Federation and other organizations with which APPA is affiliated. "We plan to integrate with other industry organizations that have more specialized information," said Griggs. This will give browsers the opportunity to find more peanut information from a variety of sources, even if the data is not available directly on the APPA site." The new website has been active for about three weeks, and while fully operational, Griggs said that APPA still has plans to expand www.alpeanuts.com throughout the coming months. After the fine-tuning has been finished, APPA plans to continuously update information on the site to entice users to visit it more often.
