ALFA FARMERS WEBSITE EXPANDS ONLINE CLASSIFIEDS
MONTGOMERY, Ala.-- The Alabama Farmers Federation has expanded its free on-line classified system to include everything from antiques to vacation rental opportunities. The Trade 'N Post is part of the Federation's website, www.alfafarmers.org, which last year attracted more than 156,000 visitors. Previously, the Trade 'N Post was restricted to listings that included only farm and farm-related items. Now, the site includes listings for antiques, automobiles, pets, recreation vehicles and vacation rentals. "The Trade 'N Post already has proven to be beneficial to our farm members, but we wanted to expand the site to include opportunities for our associate members," said Federation Public Relations Department Director J. Paul Till. As part of the Alfa Farmers' website, the Trade 'N Post can be viewed by anyone with Internet access. However, only members can post items for sale or trade on the site. "The login process is a simple procedure and requires first-time users to enter their membership number and last name," Till said. "Users are asked to complete a short registration form and must agree to the Terms and Conditions listed on the site." In addition to the new categories, the site includes aquaculture, cattle, eggs and poultry, land, labor, fruits and vegetables, hay and feed, horses and mules, machinery, plants, bulbs and seeds, rabbits, sheep, goats and ratites, swine, syrup, honey and bees, wildlife resources and a wanted-to-buy category.
