TRAINING WILL HELP FARMERS MANAGE RISK
There will be two producer training meetings featuring "The Art of Hedging." The seminar is free, but meals are "on your own." The topics will be integrating options with forward contracts and market timing plus hedging government payments and hedging inputs. The south Alabama meeting is Feb. 21, 6 p.m., Crystal River Seafood, 3460 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan. The north Alabama meeting is Feb. 28, 6 p.m., the Original Greenbrier Restaurant, 27028 Old Hwy. 20, Madison.
Glen A. Arnold of Cochran, Ga. will be the instructor. He is an independent Commodity Hedge Consultant / Commodity Broker that specializes in working with Ag producers. He is an organizational leadership graduate of Mercer University and of the Texas International Cotton School at Texas Tech. he has studied Futures and Options at the University of Georgia and is a graduate of The Cotton Institute at Rhodes College in Memphis.
