ALFA INSURANCE RENEWS AHSAA CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP
Alfa Insurance has renewed its corporate partnership with the Alabama High School Athletic Association for the fourth consecutive year, Dan Washburn, AHSAA executive director, announced Monday. Alfa Insurance contributed $125,000 to the AHSAA and remains one of the association's seven major corporate partners, joining AmSouth Bank, Coca-Cola, Alabama Power, Encore Rehabilitation, Jack's and Dodge.
"We are extremely proud to be able to partner with Alfa Insurance, one of our major corporate sponsors once again," said Washburn. "Alfa is a good corporate citizen that believes in supporting schools across this state, and we're glad to have Alfa as a part of our great corporate team."
Alfa President Jerry Newby said the company recognizes the importance that athletics have in shaping the lives of young people. "Athletics do more than help keep young people physically fit," Newby said. "Through these organized activities, they learn discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork -- all of which prepare them for life. Alfa is proud to renew its partnership that helps young people throughout Alabama."
The AHSAA corporate partners play a big role in the championship programs that involve 400 member high schools and over 100,000 athletes.
"We are excited to have Alfa Insurance renew its contract, said Ron Swann, AHSAA marketing director. "We consider Alfa one of the building blocks of our corporate sponsorship program. We would not be able to have the first-class championship programs we do without Alfa."
Alfa has offices in all 67 Alabama counties and has more than one million policies in force in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.
