HALL NAMED DIRECTOR OF PORK, POULTRY DIVISIONS
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Bullock County native Guy Hall is the new director of the pork and poultry divisions for the Alabama Farmers Federation. As director, Hall will work closely with producers of those commodities and will help administer the producer-funded Pork Checkoff program. Before coming to the commodity department, he was a claims adjuster for Alfa Insurance for almost two years and specialized in poultry house inspections and claims.
Hall, 42, received his bachelor's degree in animal science from Auburn University. After graduation, he worked for Murphy Farms for two years, training to manage large swine production units. He then went to work for Farmers Hybrid, a swine genetics company, where he held the position of district manager for southeast operations and later was a regional manager in Kentucky. Hall worked for Sylvest Farms, a poultry integrator in Montgomery, before joining Alfa.
"We are very fortunate to find someone like Guy who has the background, knowledge and experience in both the poultry and pork industries," said Jimmy Carlisle, director of the Federation's Commodity Department. "With his love for agriculture, Guy will be a great asset to this organization. I am confident he will serve our members well."
Hall lives in Montgomery with his wife Julie and their two daughters, Kim, 13, and Lela, 10.
"Alfa has a history of helping farmers with economic and political decisions that affect the future of the agriculture industry," said Hall. "I look forward to working with the pork and poultry producers to ensure future development of those industries."
The Alabama Farmers Federation, the state's largest farm organization, represents 16 commodity divisions and has 464,000 members throughout Alabama.
