ALFA NAMES RICKEY VICE PRESIDENT OF PUBLIC RELATIONS

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The president of Alfa Insurance and Alabama Farmers Federation, Jerry A. Newby, has announced the appointment of David C. Rickey as vice president of public relations for the Federation, insurance companies and other Alfa affiliates."Alfa is extremely fortunate to have a person of Dave's knowledge and experience in public relations and communication," Newby said. "We're delighted to have him on board." Rickey, of Birmingham, previously has served as a public relations executive for AmSouth Bank, Alabama Power and Blount Inc. He began his career as a broadcast journalist at WSFA-TV in Montgomery, Ala., after receiving his journalism degree from the University of Missouri. In 1990, Rickey earned his Accredited Public Relations Professional (APR) designation. Rickey and his wife, Lisa, have three children, Wes, 13, LeeAnne, 20 and Nicole, 23.
