CONGRESSMAN ADERHOLT TO HOST AG AND INDUSTRY TOUR
U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt, who represents Alabama's Fourth Congressional District, will host his sixth annual Agriculture and Industry Tour Aug. 25-26. "It is very important to me that we continue to keep our existing industry and farmers prospering as we develop new and exciting opportunities for the state of Alabama," Aderholt said. This year's tour will highlight some emerging farms and showcase existing industry in Etowah and Marshall counties, he said. Sign in for the tour begins at 1 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Hampton Inn on River Road in Gadsden. Stops will include a tours of Mueller Co. in Albertville and Guntersville Dam, a cruise and dinner aboard the Tennessee Valley Authority Barge on the Tennessee River, breakfast and tour of Dean Sausage in Attalla, and tours of Timberlake Alpaca Farm in Glencoe and Wills Creek Vineyards in Attalla. Each stop will include a brief walking tour and an overview of each industry or farm. There is a $50 registration fee per person for the two-day event, which covers transportation, dinner and lunch.
