CATFISH INDUSTRY UPDATE MEETING SET FOR NOV. 9
DEMOPOLIS, Ala. - The Alabama Catfish Producers will be hosting an Alabama Catfish Industry Update Meeting on Nov. 9, at the Civic Center in Demopolis, beginning at 9 a.m. All producers and other persons associated with the catfish industry are encouraged to attend the meeting. A Southern fried catfish lunch will be served between the morning and afternoon sessions packed with information related to catfish production. There will be updates from Auburn University and Mississippi State University, USDA APHIS Wildlife Services, the Southern Regional Aquaculture Center, the Alabama Fish Farming Center and many other timely topics. Other speakers scheduled to appear are Hugh Warren from Catfish Farmers of America, Roger Barlow with the Catfish Institute and Mike McCall with The Catfish Journal. A number of processors also have agreed to participate in a panel discussion and several distributors of fish farming equipment and products will be present. Registration is not required and door prizes will be given away.
