ELMORE CATTLEMEN'S TRAIL RIDE SATURDAY
TALLASSEE, Ala. -- The Elmore County Cattlemen's Association's fund-raiser and trail ride will be Saturday, Nov. 4, beginning at 9 a.m., from 8496 Rigsby Road in Tallassee. Riders will be able to ride on scenic private land of mountainous overlooks and Tallapoosa River bottomlands. To reach the ride's starting point, take I-85 out of Montgomery toward Atlanta; take U.S. 80/AL 110 Exit No. 11 toward Mitylene/Mount Meigs; turn right onto U.S. 80/AL 110/AL 8; turn left onto U.S. 80/AL 8; turn left onto County Road 64/Wares Ferry Road; right onto County Road 74/Dozier Road, which becomes Emerald Mountain Expressway; follow for two miles and turn right onto Rifle Range Road, County Road 4; keep left at fork and continue to Rifle Range Road/County Road 4 for 4 miles; and turn right on Rigsby Road and go one mile. The $20 fee includes the ride and lunch; reservations are requested at (334) 850-7522. A negative Coggins test is required.
