ALABAMA HORSE COUNCIL TO PRESENT 'WHISPERER'
Ken McNabb, Stacy Westfall and Nicole Huber Carswell -- three of America's top practitioners of natural horsemanship -- will take three green colts and three young riders to "horse high school" Jan. 27-28 as the Alabama Horse Council presents "After The Whisperer" at Montgomery's Garrett Coliseum. The three trainers will be holding classes in three round pens in two sessions (Saturday morning and afternoon) before they put their young students through Boggle Trail, a challenging trail/obstacle course designed to mentally and physically test both horse and rider. The event will also include clinics by former rodeo cowboy Rick Wheat, an equine trade show featuring vendors from Wisconsin to Florida, and "Top Guns," a two-hour horseback performance featuring Roman riding, mounted shooting and whips, drill team and pairs riding, bridleless reining, trick riding and fire jumping. Proceeds from "Top Guns" will benefit the Alabama Regional Equine Information Network Training Program. Tickets are $10 per day with the Saturday night "Top Guns" also $10. Children 6 and younger are admitted free. For more information, visit the AHC's website at www.alabamahorsecouncil.org or call 1-800-945-8033.
