AU AG ALUMNI AWARD RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED
AUBURN, Ala. -- Five outstanding individuals with ties to Alabama agriculture will be honored Thursday, Feb. 22, when the Auburn University (AU) Agricultural Alumni Association holds its 2007 Annual Meeting and Hall of Honor Banquet.
This year's inductees into the Association's Hall of Honor, which pays tribute to living Alabamians for their contributions to Alabama agriculture, are James T. Pursell of Sylacauga, Dale L. Huffman of Auburn and James E. Brady Jr. of Marion. The late Thomas F. Burnside Jr., of Wedowee and Hanchey E. Logue Sr., who lived in Auburn, will be added to the list of Pioneer Award winners, who are honored posthumously for their contributions to the state's agriculture.
The awards will be presented during the banquet at the Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center in Auburn. Registration for the banquet begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the banquet at 6:30 p.m. Tickets to the banquet and awards ceremony are $50 per person and should be purchased by Feb. 12.
To help fund the banquet, the Association is offering corporate sponsorships. Platinum Corporate sponsorships are available for $2,000 and entitle the sponsors to eight complimentary tickets, a commemorative plaque and recognition in the banquet program and sponsor board. Gold Corporate sponsorships, at $1,000, entitle the sponsors to four complimentary tickets, a commemorative plaque and recognition in the banquet program and sponsor board. The $500 Silver Corporate sponsorships provide the sponsors with two complimentary tickets, a commemorative plaque and recognition in the banquet program, while Bronze Corporate sponsors, at the $250 level, will receive one complimentary ticket and recognition in the banquet program.
