BONNER NAMED AG SUBCOMMITTEE RANKING MEMBER
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Alabama's 1st District congressman, Rep. Jo Bonner, was among six top Agriculture Committee Republicans named Thursday by ranking Republican Bob Goodlatte to serve as a subcommittee ranking member. Bonner, whose district includes Baldwin, Clark, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe and Washington counties, will be the Ranking Republican on the Department Operations, Oversight, Nutrition, and Forestry Subcommittee. That subcommittee's jurisdiction includes: agency oversight, review and analysis; special investigations; food stamps; nutrition and consumer programs; forestry in general; and forest reserves other than those created from the public domain. Also named were veteran Subcommittee Chairmen Frank Lucas, Jerry Moran, and Robin Hayes, along with Reps. Randy Neugebauer and Marilyn Musgrave. "All of the Subcommittee Ranking Republicans are strong advocates for American agriculture," said Goodlatte. "Reps. Lucas, Moran and Hayes served well as Subcommittee Chairmen, and I have no doubt they will continue to do so in their capacity as Ranking Republicans. Reps. Bonner, Neugebauer, and Musgrave are seasoned members of the Committee and will continue to be strong voices for agriculture in their leadership roles."
