SEARCH COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS GOGUE AS SOLE FINALIST FOR PRESIDENT
AUBURN, Ala. -- The Auburn University Presidential Search Advisory Committee has named University of Houston President Jay Gogue as the sole finalist for the university's top executive position. Gogue, 59, has two degrees in horticulture from Auburn and has been president at Houston since 2003. He is also chancellor of the University of Houston system. A native of Waycross, Ga., he is past president of New Mexico State University and provost of Utah State. Gogue would replace Auburn president Ed Richardson, who took the job on an interim basis in 2003. Gogue will be on the AU campus for public forums on Wednesday, March 21, and Thursday, March 22.
