FAULKNER TO HOST COWBOY POET BAXTER BLACK

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Baxter Black, the cowboy poet who entertained at the American Farm Bureau Federation's annual meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah earlier this year, is heading South for Montgomery's Faulkner University.Black, a former large animal veterinarian who has published more than a dozen books of fiction, poetry and commentary since the early 1980s, will appear at Faulkner's annual fund-raising benefit dinner on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. Black currently hosts a syndicated weekly radio program on National Public Radio, Baxter Black on Monday, and writes a syndicated weekly newspaper column, "On the Edge of Common Sense."
