APEA TO HOST POULTRY GROWER SEMINARS
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Jeff Jobe, business and cooperative field advisor with USDA Rural Development, will provide Alabama poultry growers an overview of grant money available for the farm during the Alabama Poultry & Egg Association's Grower Educational Seminars at various locations on Monday and Tuesday.Monday's seminars are scheduled for 11:30 a.m., at Pike County Cattlemen's Park in Troy, and 6 p.m. at the New Brockton Farm Center in New Brockton. On Tuesday, the 11:30 a.m. seminar will be held at the Cullman Civic Center in Cullman and at 6 p.m. at the Snead State Cafeteria in Boaz. Lunch or dinner will be served at all meetings. Other speakers include Bennie Hutchins, program coordinator for Southwest Mississippi Resource Conservation & Development, Inc., who will speak on how growers can use energy efficiency grants to retrofit poultry houses and improve their bottom line.
