FEDERATION LEADERS TO SERVE ON AFBF COMMODITY PANELS
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Eight members of the Alabama Farmers Federation will serve on American Farm Bureau Federation Commodity Advisory Committees when they meet later this month in Irvine, Calif. Townsend Kyser of Hale County, who was elected chairman of the AFBF Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee, will serve as chairman of the Aquaculture Committee. Mitt Walker, director of the Alabama Farmers Federation Catfish Division, will serve as secretary of the Aquaculture Committee meeting. Walt Cocoran of Barbour County will serve on the Cotton Committee, and Carl Sanders of Coffee County will serve on the Peanut Committee. Those meetings will be Feb. 17-19. W. D. Flowers of Montgomery County will serve on the Hay & Forage Committee, while Dennis Maze of Blount County will serve on the Poultry Committee. Those meetings will be Feb. 19-21. Tommy Odom of Mobile County will serve on the Ag Nursery & Greenhouse Committee, Bill Thomas of Chambers County will serve on the Forestry Committee and Bill Mullins of Madison County will serve on the Honey Committee. Those committee meetings, along with the Aquaculture Committee meeting, will be Feb. 21-23.
