WARM UP TO NEW MEMBER BENEFIT WITH AMERIGAS

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The latest addition to the Alabama Farmers Federation's growing list of membership benefits is one you can really warm up to -- a five-cent per gallon discount on all propane purchases from AmeriGas.The nation's largest propane company, AmeriGas serves more than 1.3 million residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and motor fuel propane customers in nearly 50 states. In Alabama alone, there are 16 distribution points, ranging from as far north as Florence to as far south as Mobile. "As the price of fuel continues to climb, we're proud to offer our members a new benefit that'll help defray some of those costs," said Mike Tidwell, director of the Federation's Organization Department. "This is a partnership that's perfect for so many of our rural members, especially those in the poultry business who rely on propane to heat their poultry houses but don't belong to a propane cooperative or who already have negotiated a fixed price. But it's also a great deal even if you only use propane for home heating, water heaters and for cooking and grilling." To receive the discount, Federation members must agree to use AmeriGas as their exclusive supplier of propane and remain current on their account. The discount will be reflected on each AmeriGas invoice and will not apply to fees, services, taxes or surcharges. All members wishing to take advantage of the discount must sign an AmeriGas Propane Supply Agreement and Equipment Lease, and provide AmeriGas with proof of their Federation membership by providing their membership number when setting up an account. The program may be used for personal and/or business and agricultural consumption. Pricing for this agreement will use either a tier program, or Terminal Based Pricing Program based on customer category and estimated annual usage, minus the discount of five cents per gallon. Members currently on a fixed price or who pre-bought gas are not eligible for the discount.
New customers will receive free installation of all aboveground cylinders or tanks (excluding pump stations), complimentary leak check and hook-up and convenient payment options. "AmeriGas is extremely excited and proud to partner with the Alabama Farmers Federation," said Paula Wilson, director of marketing for AmeriGas. "We look forward to providing the most reliable and most responsive service to all your members in the areas where they live and work." Alabama distributions points are: Andalusia, Birmingham, Cullman, Eastaboga, Enterprise, Dothan, Florence, Greenville, Huntsville, Jasper, Mobile, Opp, Pell City, Robertsdale, Selma and Tuscaloosa. Propane, the most common liquefied petroleum gas (LP-gas), is one of the nation's most versatile sources of energy, and serves about 60 million people in the U.S. in many different environments -- homes, industry, farming and more. More than 14 million families use propane to fuel their furnaces, water heaters, air conditioners, outdoor grills, fire places, dryers and range tops. Propane is used on more than 660,000 farms for irrigation pumps, grain dryers, standby generators and other farm equipment. It is an essential fuel for crop drying, flame cultivation, fruit ripening, space and water heating and food refrigeration. For more information, call the distributor nearest you.
