DAIRY FIELD DAY SET APRIL 30 IN SHORTER
SHORTER, Ala. -- Aflatoxins, methane capture and conversion, lowering and managing somatic cell counts and mastitis controls in heifers and older cows will be among the topics discussed at the Alabama Dairy Field Day on April 30 at Auburn University's E.V. Smith Dairy Unit in Shorter. According to Boyd Brady, a dairy specialist with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, the field day will also include a discussion of Alabama Department of Environmental Management and National Resources Conservation Services rules and regulations with producers receiving one continuing education unit credit. The E.V. Smith Dairy Unit is just off Interstate 85 at Exit 26. Registration form should be received by April 21 to guarantee meal.
