FRUIT & VEGETABLE GROWER MEETING SET
COLUMBIANA, Ala. -- The Shelby County Extension Office and Natural Resource Conservation Service Office will host a fruit and vegetable growers production and marketing meeting Monday, April 21, 6-8:30 p.m., at the Extension Office Auditorium in Columbiana. Gary Gray, regional Extension agent, will update growers on fertility and integrated pest management (IPM), while Thomas McDaniel, NRCS conservationist and manager of the Columbiana Farmers Market, will offer information on the market and the EQIP Small Farm Initiative Micro-Irrigation project. Dinner will be sponsored by the Alabama Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association and an IPM Mini-grant from the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. However, growers are asked to notify the Shelby County Extension Office at (205) 669-6763 in advance of the meeting.
