POULTRY GROWER EDUCATION SEMINARS NEXT WEEK
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Alabama Poultry & Egg Association will host educational seminars for poultry growers at four locations across Alabama next week.
Presented by the AP&EA's Grower Committee, the seminars will feature sessions on "How Growers Are Saving and Making Money Through Litter Management" by Drs. Kenneth Macklin and Joe Hess, both Extension specialists and assistant professors of poultry science at Auburn University. The session will be followed by dicussion by a panel of growers.
Sgt. Kenny Price of the Highway Patrol Division of the Alabama Department of Public Safety, will lead a seminar on "Intrastate Farmer Exemptions" for the new Department of Transportation regulations, and Dana Brindley-Bennett, poultry unit manager of the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries, will provide an update on the department's monitoring program.
The seminars are scheduled at the following times and locations:
Monday, Oct. 27
11:30 a.m. -- Cullman Civic Center, Cullman
6 p.m. -- Snead State Cafeteria, Snead
Tuesday, Oct. 28
11:30 a.m. -- Sisters Restaurant, Troy
6 p.m. -- New Brockton Farm Center, New Brockton
Lunch or dinner will be served at all meetings.
Growers attending the sessions are urged to observe normal biosecurity precautions.
