EXTENSION TO HOST FOOD PROCESSING MEETING
CLANTON, Ala. -- Growers and value-added producers interested in developing a food processing facility are urged to attend a meeting Thursday, Oct. 30, 1-3 .m., at the Extension office at 504 First Avenue in Clanton. Hosted by the Chilton County Extension Office and Chilton Research and
Extension Center, the meeting is targeted toward growers who want to create and market value-added products, such as (but not limited to) jams, jellies, juices, pickles, etc. The workshop will address equipment requirements, resources for compliance with various health regulations and how to establish a kitchen eligible to be certified by the health department.
