A CLEAR VALUE: HEARING AID DISCOUNTS FOR FEDERATION MEMBERS
MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The latest in an ever-growing list of Alabama Farmers Federation membership benefits could help you discover what you've been missing. It's the ClearValue Hearing Aid Benefits Plan, and it can save you up to 55 percent on hearing aids.
Alabama Farmers Federation members not only get deep discounts on hearing aids, but free hearing tests and annual retests, free hearing aid adjustments, free bi-annual hearing aid maintenance, one case of batteries with purchase, discounts on ear molds and custom ear protection from Westone Laboratories and up to a 55 percent discount on hearing instruments manufactured by Siemens.
In addition, Siemens offers its own free, two-year manufacturer's warranty and a directional microphone or switchless telecoil. That's a total savings of about $2,150 per ear, based on a four-year life of the instrument.
Members are eligible, at no charge, for the ClearValue Hearing Benefits Program but must activate their membership online at the ClearValue Hearing Web site at www.ClearValueHearing.com, email@example.com or call toll free at 888-497-7447. Additional information about the program and local provider names and locations can be accessed on the Web site or at ClearValue's toll free hotline.
There's no waiting period, either -- members have access to a nationwide network of professional audiologists and hearing aid specialists immediately after activating their membership.
"Hearing loss is one of the most common problems facing baby boomers today," said Mike Tidwell, director of the Federations' Department of Organization. "It's a quality of life issue -- not being able to hear the voice of your loved ones or the laughter of your grandchildren ... that's pretty tough to accept. Unfortunately, Medicare and most health insurance policies don't cover hearing aids, regardless of age, need or the cause of hearing loss. That's why we're pleased to be able to help through this member benefit."
According to ClearValue, about 5 million Americans wear hearing aids, but another 35 million SHOULD wear them but can't afford them. In fact, only 2 percent of Americans have any type of hearing aid benefits on their medical coverage. The ClearValue Hearing Aid Benefits Plan, however, can be used to supplement existing insurances and Medicare.
To address that issue, the ClearValue Hearing Benefits Program was developed and implemented by Dr. Kent L. Webb, ClearValue management staff and local audiology professionals. Webb, who holds a bachelor's degree in speech and hearing and a doctorate in audiology, has been a practicing clinical audiologist in Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri for more than 30 years.
"ClearValue Hearing is contracting with hearing professionals who have demonstrated the highest quality of service and care to the hearing impaired population throughout the United States," said Webb. "All contracted professionals are professionally credentialed and must maintain a strict level of excellence in order to be included in the ClearValue network."
The program also includes a free biannual hearing aid cleaning and check, free replacement of wax guards, battery doors and tubing, in-house normal maintenance, free cost estimate on out-of-warranty repairs, free annual hearing aid programming, free annual hearing aid analysis, free biannual otoscopic ear canal and ear drum exam, free membership to battery discount club and 10 percent discount on assisted listening and ear care products.
