VIDEOCONFERENCE SET FOR STRAWBERRY PRODUCERS
CLANTON, Ala. -- Central Alabama strawberry growers are invited to a Commercial Strawberry Production Videoconference and dinner at the Chilton Research and Extension Center (CREC) on Tuesday, June 23, at 5 p.m.Dr. Allen Straw of the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service, an authority on strawberry production, will address growers via a remote video system from the Cullman County Extension Office and broadcast to the Chilton station in central Alabama and the Wiregrass Research and
Extension Center in southern Alabama. Topics to be discussed include fumigation, fertilization, weed control, row cover management and other aspects of strawberry production. Dinner sponsored by the Alabama Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association will be served at 5 p.m. at the CREC and Straw will speak at 6 p.m. Registration is required.
