INVASIVE SPECIES MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP SET OCT. 14
JASPER, Ala. -- "Weeds Gone Wild," a workshop focusing on invasive species management, will be hosted by the Walker County Soil & Water Conservation District on Oct. 14 in downtown Jasper. The workshop, set for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the CHS Building at 204 East 19th Street, will also feature a privet eradication demonstration. Guest speakers include Stephen Enloe of Auburn University, Jim Jeter of the Alabama Forestry Commission, Danny Cain of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and Victor Nickels of BASF Chemical Co. Funding for the workshop was provided by a grant from the Alabama Invasive Plant Council. Reservations are required, but there is no charge for attending.
