SHELBY COUNTY TO HOST ANNUAL WATER FESTIVAL FRIDAY
MONTEVALLO, Ala. -- Shelby County's annual Water Festival, a one-day event focused on teaching fourth-graders the importance of preserving the county's water resources, will be Friday, Jan. 8, 9 a.m. until noon, in Harmon Hall on the University of Montevallo campus.
More than 1,100 students from throughout the county are expected to attend the event, which will feature a rotating curriculum that includes Water Cycle Bracelets, a magic show by The Fishin' Magician and Fantastic Filtration.
The program is sponsored by the Shelby County Soil and Water Conservation District in partnership with the Shelby County Farmers Federation, the Shelby Chapter of the Alabama Cattleman's Association, the Shelby County Commission and the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM).
