GARRETT COLISEUM'S 53RD RODEO COMING MARCH 11-13
The 53rd annual Southeastern Livestock Exposition Rodeo will host the National All-Region Finals of the International Pro Rodeo Association March 11-13 at Montgomery's Garrett Coliseum.
Rodeo fans will see the top five competitors in all seven events from each of IPRA's four regions competing in two go-rounds. The event marks the first time SLE has partnered with the IPRA, which has 3,500 members and sanctions 300 rodeos annually.
Performances run Thursday and Friday, March 11 and 12, at 7 p.m. with a matinee performance Saturday, March 13, at 2 p.m. The championship round begins Saturday night at 7.
Also new will be a barn party with live music following the rodeo, mutton bustin' with on-site registration and a bleacher-clearing calf scramble for kids in the audience.
The SLE, founded in 1958, is a non-profit organization working to promote the state's livestock industry and helping provide leadership opportunities for our youth. The SLE has a long history of helping support local charities and organizations, such as Alabama FFA and Alabama 4-H.
