STROKE DETECTION PLUS SCREENINGS SET IN 17 COUNTIES

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Alabama Farmers Federation members looking to take advantage of their membership benefit with Stroke Detection Plus have several opportunities to do just that as screenings are scheduled in 17 counties during the next few weeks.

The Federation has partnered with Stroke Detection Plus to provide a $30 discount for members who elect to have ultrasound screenings for stroke/carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm, peripheral arterial disease and osteoporosis.

Members will receive each of the four available prevention tests for $95, with preliminary results given on site. All results are further reviewed by board-certified, state-licensed individuals, and those with high-risk results will be contacted by a registered nurse.

The upcoming screenings are listed below:

Oct. 4 -5 -- Calhoun County -- Calhoun County Agricultural Extension Office, 1702 Noble Street, Anniston, 9 a.m.-4:15 p.m.

Oct. 6 -- Calhoun County -- ALFA Insurance Office, 1535 Pelham Road South, Jacksonville, 8:45 a.m.-4:15 p.m.

Oct. 7 -- St. Clair County -- Pell City Parks & Recreation, 2801 Stemley Bridge Road, Pell City, 8:15 a.m.-3:45 p.m.

Oct. 11 -- Marshall County -- First Baptist Church, 309 East Main Street, Albertville, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Oct. 12 -- Marshall County -- ALFA Insurance Office, 1333 Blount Ave., Guntersville, 8:45 a.m.-4:15 p.m.
