NEW PEANUT BUTTER PLANT TO OPEN IN TROY
TROY, Ala. -- Troy officials announced today that a new peanut butter plant would be opening there, bringing with it up to 130 new jobs. Golden Boy Foods Ltd. announced plans today to hire 65-75 employees in Pike County within the next year, and up to a total of 130 by 2013. Golden Boy Foods will be located in the former Campbell Enterprises building in the Troy Industrial Park. Golden Boy Foods is a Canadian company, which is among the leading suppliers of organic and conventional, private label peanut butter, trail mixes, snacking nuts, raisins, dried fruits, baking nuts, rice, beans, lentils, peas and other dry goods. It sells to 20 of the top 30 retailers in North America, as well as leading food service organizations and major food processors.
Other Golden Boy Food locations are in Washington state and Ontario and British Columbia, Canada.
