WHEAT EXPO MEETINGS SCHEDULED FOR AUG. 23, SEPT. 1
Wheat producers have two approaching opportunities to learn about the latest information concerning wheat production for next season. The Auburn University Agronomy Team will host area meetings in North and Central Alabama, and researchers from Auburn University, the University of Georgia, USDA and other agriculture professionals will provide updates and new information on wheat production and facilitate discussion among producers. The North Alabama meeting will take place Aug. 23 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Aerospace Training Center at Calhoun Community College near Decatur. Free breakfast will be provided. The Central Alabama meeting will be Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Richard Beard Building Auditorium at the Department of Agriculture and Industries in Montgomery. Free lunch will be provided. Participants should inform their county coordinator or extension agent of their attendance. CCA points will be given for attendance. The Wheat Expo meetings are sponsored by the Alabama Wheat and Feed Grains Checkoff Committee.
